Hey,
I think Maria hit on all the highlights for the possible event at the Twinsburg restaurant. They did say they would pay us an hourly rate if we'd bus tables that night as well. They will not allow us to wait on tables however. I feel it's a no brainer, they seem so nice and easy to work with....
I'm up for any type of fundraising - large or small. In addition to Lori's garage sale idea, the Pepperpike Community Center used to hold a "Junk in Your Trunk" sale which my husband and I participated in several years ago and did quite well. I could look into that again if everyone would like me too.
I'm up for meeting on March 13th. Just let me know when and where....

Fundraising
Hi...
I have had many, many thoughts on this subject and need some input! Is anyone interested in planning a large fundraising event like a reverse raffle or a night at the races kind of thing? Or should we plan on several smaller events?
- Lori has mentioned a neighborhood garage sale that her neighborhood has....
- Candy bars that we can buy in bulk at Sam's Club. If we got them out early and sold at $1.00 each...that would add up....lots of people like chocolate. We could even recruit willing family members or friends to take boxes of them to their offices to sell on our behalf! Brian just told me that he would take some to his shop for sure!!)
- A car wash? A couple of us have teenagers that might be willing to get a few of their friends together to help us with this one!!
- Angela has come up with what sounds like a great opportunity with a restauarant in the Twinsburg area that will sponsor our team for a night! The jist of it is...the restaurant will give us one night to promote our team. They will help us to print up flyers for distrubution. Any patron that comes in on the specified night with the flyer will earn us 20% of their total bill to go toward our cause. We can also hold raffles etc on that night to earn a few extra dollars. Angela, feel free to add on all of the details that I left out!
I would like to plan an evening when we can all get together and meet each other and discuss some of these details! How is everyone looking for Friday, March 13th?
Thoughts?!
Have a great week!!

Countdown: 24 Weeks
I can't believe it's actually time to follow the training schedule but here it is!!! 24 weeks to go! I will post this schedule weekly! This year, I would like to try and plan some training walks for anyone that is interested in walking together. Especially as the training schedule calls for 7+ miles! I have Sunny Lake in my area (a marked 1 and 3/4 mile path in the Aurora area) and Lori has access to the toepath trails in Stow/Hudson! Carol is relatively close to Punderson State Park and the Lake County Metroparks. Lets hope it warms up a bit soon so we can get outside!!

Wednesday Rest
Thursday 3 miles Moderate walking
Friday 30 minutes Easy cross-training
Saturday 3 miles Easy walking

Better late than never...
What an amazing experience. Maria ended up in a knee brace and I hobbled into the ER with blisters that seemed larger than my feet! Along the way I met some of the most determined and courageous woman I’ve ever known. I met one woman in tears struggling to complete the walk even though she had just finished her chemo treatment 12 weeks before. Another woman had walked in every 3Day event city in the country. Bystanders hugged us, thanked us, told us their mothers, sisters, wives were battling the disease. Even before we finished that walk I knew I would walk again the next year.
A year ago I walked on team “For Our Daughters” for the daughter I did not yet know. A child I only hoped to adopt one day. Today I have been blessed with the addition of a beautiful, healthy 2 year old baby. Nina has renewed and redoubled my commitment to help find a cure for breast cancer before she is old enough to even know what it is.
This year I walk, inspired by all whom I met last year, and for my dear daughter Nina.
PS: to all you nay sayers who thought I would walk but not sleep in the tent, you were wrong! I slept in the tent, used my pink Disney Princess flashlight, and even entered the dreaded port-a-potty! I’m not giving up my Four Seasons reservations just yet but it was kind of, sort of, fun.

Hello Ladies...
The site looks awesome - great job Maria!
Carol - nice to meet you - will be even better when we get to meet in person.
I am very excited to be a part of the team. It's going to be an amazing experience for a worthy cause!
I'm planning on sending out some of my fundraising emails today. I think I might call Beef O' Brady's in Twinsburg as well to see if they are still offering the fundraising night for groups. (They would give you half the nights proceeds to benefit your cause.) Will keep you posted.

Welcome Angela!!!
I am so happy that Angela Lucas has officially become a member of the team! I have updated the page with her photo and link to her 3Day website! She is SUPER sweet and will be a great motivator for the team!! I am looking at the calendar to come up with a date that we can get together, maybe for dinner, so we can all meet! I think it's a great group so far and we are going to have a lot of fun! If you know of anyone else that might be interested in joining the team, we would welcome additions!

Hey!!! You made it!!
Hey there!! Glad the website is working! I was beginning to wonder!
You can definitely make it 60 miles! As long as you are walking now you are warming up!! The 3Day has a training schedule that they send out once a week starting at week 24. Last year we didn't follow it "to the letter" and I think Lori and I both agreed that maybe we should have! Especially when it comes to the long walks on back to back days!! I will post those schedules on here too! As soon as the weather breaks, I would like to put some training walks together! We just picked up a new teamate....Angela Lucas...I will post her info as soon as possible! She lives out here by me but I thought maybe we could alternate some training....Punderson would be in the middle (kind of)...there are some Metroparks out your way or if you can come out this way, we have Sunny Lake. I will get something together in the next few weeks. Do you have a treadmill for now?
Fundraising.....we need to put our heads together to come up with some group ideas but START NOW!!! Ask everyone and ask big! Your school, your friends, your doctors, etc! I had several people that gave a dollar a mile last year! You never know who you will ask that has a very personal interest in helping this cause!
Post any ideas you might have too for training and fundraising!!!

Training
I've been walking everyday, but am not sure I can make 60 miles! Any pointers on training would be greatly appreciated. I know you're doing fine, as you have already been through this! What are we doing about fundraising?
